Happy Mother’s Day!

May 14, 2007

You know, a day late, because I was busy watching Survivor last night. I really was going to post. 😉 And speaking of Survivor, I just have to say to the two of you out there who still watch it — was the footage of Michelle wiping out while directing Yau in the challenge COMIC GOLD or what? I swear, I was weeping, tears running down my face — I watched it over and over. Too flipping funny!!

So, oh yeah. Back to Mother’s day —  aside from one screaming crying meltdown, our day was great. We’d gone to church on Saturday, so I slept in, was not awakened by bickering, got cool homemade cards and pictures and even had a poem recited to me. I got up and went to Borders and leisurely drank coffee and read for 45 minutes — then went Goodwill shopping (we have a fantastic Goodwill…fitting rooms, clean & organized, everything is sorted and arranged by color…I luurve it), and generally bummed around for a bit loving the fact that I had no time restraint. The last month has been so schedule driven, it was nice to have a break from that.

In the afternoon we went to my husband’s grandma’s house for dinner — the weather was great and  the girls made friends with some other girls who were outside playing in the courtyard. They were sooo excited about that — it was really cute. Then we came home for baths & bed. Checked on the garden and the seeds we planted last Sunday have finally come up!

So how was your Mother’s Day? Did you do anything special?

  1. Julie! It sounds like you had a fabulous day! I’m so happy for you! I had a great day, too.. spent with my mom and sisters and their families. Got toast and strawberries for breakfast along with coffee and juice. B cleaned the house for me and I got to hang out on the computer uninterupted in the morning! Bliss!
Oh! And congrats on the seedlings!
    Hugs!

  2. It sounds like a wonderful day! I am jealous of your Goodwill though, I must admit!

Hooray for your seedlings coming up! I was thinking of you yesterday as I was caring for my own!

Happy Belated Mother’s Day to you! (And Jodi too!)
